It’s coming out that this was a hatchet job by a disgruntled core of citizens who were previously in office. They launched the city into a financial bind when they decided to use civic funds to build a golf course, in a city of 500, for a small clique to enjoy.
When Gronquist was elected over the pro-golf set, she promptly set up some financial restraints, pulled back on the golf course and fired an abusive city cop and the golf course manager.
Since the backwoods clique couldn’t beat her in elections they pulled up some dirt. Never mind that previous mayors dealt in pot, were alcoholics or had other assorted pasts. Suddenly ‘myspace’ photos became the spinster sets outrage.
Welcome to the worst of small town America, where vengeance is petty and selective.
